Change your name, photo, language, password, 2FA, and account preferences.
Profile & account settings
Your profile represents you across TASKTOGO — every group you join, every task you assign, every message you send. Keep it up to date so teammates can recognise and reach you.
Update your display name
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner (or in the sidebar).
- Select Profile settings.
- Edit the Name field.
- Click Save.
Your new name appears immediately to teammates after their next page refresh.
Upload a profile picture
- Open Profile settings.
- Click Change photo.
- Upload a JPEG, PNG, or WebP image (max 5 MB).
- Crop to a square — the image is resized to 256 × 256 px.
- Click Save.
To remove your picture, click Remove photo. Your initials are shown instead.
Change your language
TASKTOGO supports English, Danish, German, and French.
- Open Profile settings → Preferences.
- Select your language under Display language.
- The interface updates immediately.
Email and push notifications are sent in the same language.
Change your password
If you signed up with a password:
- Go to Profile settings → Security.
- Click Change password.
- Enter your current password and a new one (min. 12 characters, mix of letters, numbers, and symbols).
- Click Save.
If you signed up with a magic link and never set a password, click Set password instead.

Two-factor authentication (2FA)
Protect your account with TOTP-based two-factor authentication.
- Open Profile settings → Security → Two-factor authentication.
- Click Enable 2FA.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (Authy, 1Password, Google Authenticator, etc.).
- Enter the 6-digit code to confirm.
- Save your recovery codes in a safe place — you'll need them if you lose access to your authenticator.
Notification preferences
Control how and when TASKTOGO contacts you:
- Go to Profile settings → Notifications.
- Toggle in-app, email, and push channels per event type:
- Task assignments and updates
- Calendar invites and reminders
- Mentions in messages
- Group invitations
- Click Save.
Active sessions
See where you're currently signed in:
- Open Profile settings → Security → Active sessions.
- Each row shows the device, browser, IP address, and last activity.
- Click Sign out next to any session to revoke it immediately.
- Click Sign out all other sessions to keep only the current one.
Email address
To change the email address tied to your account, contact support@tasktogo.com. We verify the new address before making the change to prevent account takeover.
Export your data
You can download a copy of your personal data and group content at any time. See the data export article for details.
Delete your account
To permanently delete your account, see the delete-account article. Deletion is processed within 30 days per GDPR Article 17.
FAQ
Why can't I change my email myself? Self-service email change is disabled for security. Account takeover via compromised inboxes is a leading attack vector — we verify the new address out-of-band before switching.
Will my profile picture appear in emails? Yes — your avatar appears in notification emails and in mention previews.
What happens to my profile if I leave a group? Nothing. Your profile is independent of any group membership. You keep your account, name, photo, and settings.
