Messaging & group chat

TASKTOGO includes a real-time messaging channel inside every group, so conversations stay close to the work.

Send a message

1. Open a group and click Messages in the sidebar.
2. Type your message in the composer at the bottom.
3. Press Enter to send, or Shift + Enter for a new line.

Format your message

The composer supports basic Markdown:

Attach a file

• Click the 📎 paperclip icon in the composer toolbar.
• Select a file from your device (max 20 MB per file).
• Supported types: images, PDFs, text files, spreadsheets, ZIP archives.

Mention a person

Type @ followed by a name to mention someone. They'll receive a notification even if they haven't opened the group recently.

React to a message

Hover over any message and click the 😊 emoji icon to add a reaction.

Edit or delete your message

Hover over your own message and click ⋮ → Edit or Delete.

Edited messages are marked with "(edited)". Deleted messages show "This message was deleted."

Search messages

Click the 🔍 search icon at the top of the channel and type a keyword. Results show the most recent matches across all messages in the group.

Notifications for messages

You'll be notified when:

• Someone @mentions you.
• A new message arrives in a group where you have All messages notifications enabled.

Change notification preferences per group in Group settings → Notifications.
