Delete your account

Permanently delete your account and personal data (GDPR Article 17).

Delete my account

You can permanently delete your TASKTOGO account and all associated personal data at any time. This is your right under GDPR Article 17 (right to erasure).

What gets deleted

  • Your profile (name, email, password, settings).
  • Your personal notification preferences.
  • Your direct messages.
  • Your membership in all groups.
  • Any tasks or records assigned solely to you.

What is not immediately deleted

  • Group content you created (tasks, messages, events) may be retained within the group for up to 30 days so other members aren't disrupted. After 30 days it is permanently purged.
  • Billing records are retained for 7 years for tax compliance (EU VAT directive), but your personal identifiers are removed.

Before you delete

  • Download your data first if you want a copy — see Export your data.
  • Transfer group ownership if you're an admin of a group that should continue — see Transfer group ownership.
  • Cancel your Pro subscription if you have one — deleting your account does not automatically cancel billing. Go to Settings → Billing → Cancel subscription first.

Steps to delete your account

  1. Go to Settings → Security.
  2. Scroll to Danger zone.
  3. Click Delete my account.
  4. Type DELETE in the confirmation field.
  5. Click Permanently delete account.

Your account is immediately deactivated. You'll receive a confirmation email, and all data is queued for permanent deletion within 30 days.

I changed my mind

Once confirmed, account deletion cannot be undone. If you deleted by mistake, contact support@tasktogo.com immediately — data can sometimes be recovered if you act within 24 hours.
